A little bit about Jockey

Let me introduce myself: I'm Jockey!

I'm a 7yr old labrador who's looking for my new forever home.

Jockey can go home with older children (12+) and would prefer to be the only dog in the household.

I'm a really gentle and sweet boy who was brought into the shelter through no fault of my own.

I looooove my toys and especially love my rope toys! I don't mind lots of pats and love being around my human counterparts. I'm a clever boy who knows how to sit on command (I'm pretty much happy to learn any new trick if there's a treat involved). I'm happy to walk on a lead and love to explore new sights and smells.

The amazing animal attendants and behaviourists have been working a lot on my independence while I've been here as they've noted that I don't really like to be left on my own. But they've assured me that this is something that can easily be worked on once I'm in my new forever home if you're happy to continue on their work :)

In the past, I've had some fun with other dogs and like to play BUT I am very cautious around new and unfamiliar dogs, so would also need to continue on that work should you be lucky enough to adopt me!

I've got a little issue with my hips, but with monitoring and some on going treatments (which our great vets will be able to discuss with you), I'll be right as rain.

If you're ready to give this big hunk a home pop in an application below.

Weight: 41.1kg

This website is updated in real time at the conclusion of an adoption. There is a chance that while you are enquiring to meet your potential new pet, he or she may already be involved in an adoption process. If this happens, please consider another animals. Thanks for your patience.
