Corporate Volunteering Program

Thank you for your interest in The Lost Dogs’ Home Corporate Volunteering Program. Corporate Volunteering is a fantastic way to spend quality time with your workmates outside of the office while helping our furry friends.

The Lost Dogs’ Home’s Corporate Volunteering Program operates out of our North Melbourne shelter on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and welcomes up to 15 people per group booking. A full day runs from 9am to 3pm, with half-day opportunities also available.

The Lost Dogs’ Home relies on donations alone to cover its day-to-day costs, so the contributions made by organisations through the Corporate Volunteering Program play an important role in helping to provide vital care for the more than 18,000 animals that come through our doors each year.

What you can expect on the day

After an introduction to the work we do here at the Home, your team will be guided on a tour around the shelter where you can meet some of the animals in our care and see first-hand why the work you’re about to do is so important. And we will of course also make sure to include time for cuddles with the animals in our care!

Some of the activities your group may help with include:

  • Gardening
  • Shelter maintenance, such as cleaning the recreational yard for the dogs in our care to run around in and meet their forever families
  • Packing kits for our foster carers, including food and treats
  • Making enrichment items for the animals in our care
  • Sorting and cleaning toys and blankets to keep the animals warm and comfortable
