There's something about Gus that stops you in your tracks. Maybe it's his enormous green eyes - wide and searching - as if he's waiting for someone he's never met. Or maybe it's the quiet way he presses his head against the glass of his condo, hoping today is the day someone finally sees him.
Gus is only 3 years old, but life hasn't been kind to him. He's known loneliness more than he's known love. His days are spent in silence, watching other cats find homes, while he stays behind - overlooked because he carries a label: FIV positive. It sounds scary, but it's not. FIV+ cats like Gus can live long, beautiful lives - they just need someone to believe in them.
Gus is gentle. He's soft-spoken, shy at first, but aching for connection. A few slow blinks from him say more than words ever could: Please don't pass me by.
He can't live with other cats unless they're also FIV+, but he doesn't ask for much. Just a quiet corner. A little patience. A chance. Gus has so much love to give - he just hasn't had anyone to give it to.
If you're looking for a companion who will never take your love for granted, who will cherish every kind word, every soft touch - Gus is waiting.
Please don't let him wait forever.
