Meet Zoey.
Some cats run to greet you. Zoey is not one of them. Zoey may not be the first to come say hello- but she'll be the first to show you that the quietest beginnings can lead to the most meaningful bonds.
She'd be best in a home with teens or adults only, as little kids tend to be too much for her and make her quite nervous. This gentle, anxious cat is not looking for a busy household or a home filled with noise and activity. What Zoey needs is quiet, not just in sound but in spirit. Zoey doesn't want to be picked up, and she won't rush into your arms. But she will seek you out when she's ready, and when she does, her affection is tender, genuine, and deeply felt. She thrives in a calm, predictable home where she's given choice and control- and where love is offered patiently, without pressure.
During the day, she's happiest tucked in a sunny spot, dozing peacefully while the world moves around her. To feel secure, Zoey likes the freedom to choose when and how to interact, and places to retreat to when it all becomes too much.
If you have space in your heart and home for a cat who just needs a little more time... Zoey is waiting.
