Our Dogs in the Park service is based on the belief that well-trained dogs are happier, healthier, and contribute significantly to the safety and well-being of the community.
In partnership with local councils, the program offers group dog training sessions at no cost to participants, ensuring that every dog owner has access to essential resources and support, regardless of their personal or financial situation. These sessions teach owners how to appropriately manage their dogs in the community, promoting a safer experience at dog parks and other public places. Additionally, the program equips owners with tools to identify and address behaviour problems, reducing the likelihood of surrendering their dog due to manageable problems.
More than just training, Dogs in the Park is a community-building initiative that fosters interaction, understanding, and mutual respect among community members.

Each council faces different challenges when it comes to pet management, community awareness and responsibility. Our Community Outreach team is dedicated to work with you to tackle these issues by developing programs and workshops designed to meet the needs of your community.
This could include programs to address the unique challenges of high-rise apartment living, including in dense environments with limited green spaces and living areas; or it could include effective dog handling, catchpole training and behaviour and aggression handling techniques.
Other ideas include workshops and webinars on a variety of topics, such as managing reactive dogs, enriching indoor environments for cats, and more. We would love to discuss how we can support you in addressing the challenges you are facing within your community.
