A little bit about Pluto

Meet Pluto, our handsome boy who is ready to find a calm and loving place to call home.

Pluto was surrendered to the shelter by his previous owner who could unfortunately no longer care for him. He can be quite nervous when it comes to meeting new people but if you give him time to warm up he becomes such a sweet and playful pup who loves to chase toys around the yard and wag his little tail as fast as possible!

Due to his anxiety challenges, Pluto is best suited to go home with family members who are secondary school aged (12+) or older. He has shown a lack of confidence around unfamiliar men and can be worried around loud noises, so Pluto needs adopters who will take it nice and slow with him and respect his boundaries while he is settling in.

Pluto would also prefer owners who don't work full time, so he has someone around at home more often than not to support him as he becomes more confident and independent. He is also only just over 2 years old, so he has plenty of energy to burn! Lots of walks when comfortable and playtime with heaps of toys in the backyard would suit Pluto.

Pluto is pro-social with other dogs and can get very excited when he sees them, so there is the potential for him to go home with another like-minded, tolerant dog friend, pending a successful meet and greet. It might do him some favours to have a positive and confident role model.

Pluto has been spending some time with our behavioural department to do some more one-on-one training focused on building his confidence. He's come on leaps and bounds but our behavioural team will be able to continue to support you post-adoption with his ongoing training and development if needed.
