A little bit about Florence

Looking for a dog? Oh... you thought you were getting a regular sized one? Sorry to disappoint. Florance is actually a small horse disguised as a dog. Our gentle giant is big in size, big in heart... and big in zoomies.

Florance came into our care as a stray, and despite our best efforts, no one came forward to claim her. She's a bit unsure of the world right now. She's quiet, nervous, and not quite sure what to do with herself but once she's comfortable and excited... brace yourself. Literally!

Because when Florance is happy, she does what we call "monster zoomies" full body, high speed, tail wagging sprints that may or may not knock you off your feet. She tends to forget she's the size of a small car, so you'll need to stay alert (and possibly wear shin guards). Don't say we didn't warn you.

Florance is still learning her skills she doesn't know many commands just yet but with patience, consistency, and lots of treats, she has the potential to flourish. She absolutely lives for food and will happily trade some confidence building for a snack or two.

Florance will need to live with a calm, well adjusted dog who can help show her the ropes. She finds comfort in canine company, and the right furry friend could help her build confidence and settle into her new life. As always, slow and gentle introductions are key.

Given her nervous nature and sheer size, Florance will also need a home without children. She's just not ready for the hustle and bustle of little humans, and she doesn't quite realise how much space she takes up. A quiet, adults only home with people who understand big, sensitive dogs would be perfect.
