A little bit about Pocky

Hi, I'm Pocky!

I'm not just a pretty face - I'm a working dog through and through, and I'm looking for someone who gets that.

My name's Pocky (like the chocolate snack) and I'm a 1.5-year-old Kelpie x Koolie with a stunning chocolate dapple coat and a brain that does not quit. I was surrendered through no fault of my own, and while I'm trying to settle into shelter life, it's not really the environment for a guy like me. I'm currently on a short-term medication to help with the stress, but what I truly need is a job, a purpose, and someone who understands what makes a working breed tick.

I thrive when I've got structure, activity, and challenge in my life. I'd be an incredible agility or sports dog - I've got the drive, the focus, and the smarts to really excel. My ideal person is someone who enjoys training, enrichment, and being outdoors just as much as I do. I won't suit a lifestyle where I'm expected to be a backyard ornament or a couch companion right away. I need a home that can channel my energy into something meaningful and fun.

I may not be the most cuddly dog from day one, but I do form strong bonds with the right people. Once I know I can trust you, I think you'll start to see a softer, more affectionate side of me come through - but that's something we'll build together over time.

I'm best suited to a cat-free home, and would do well with someone experienced in high-drive breeds or ready to learn. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and driven companion to train, explore with, and work alongside, then I think we'd make a pretty amazing team.

I don't want to just be a pet - I want to be your partner.
