Meet Douglas!
At first, Douglas may give you a polite little tail wag from a safe distance but give him some time (or treats) and he will be sitting on your feet for cuddles and attention in no time.
Douglas has a gentle and kind soul, capturing everyone's hearts the moment they meet him. He is shy and sweet, and you can't help but want to wrap him up and protect him at all costs. He has found being in the shelter quite stressful so we would love to see him build his confidence in a new home.
We have noticed Douglas can be a little frightened around men, but with time he has warmed up very well to the male staff here. He also can get startled with sudden movements and noises so it's important his new family can take it slow with him and keep a calm home environment. We ask any kids in the home are secondary aged and above and dog savvy. Douglas may be happy to live alongside another dog, once they come to meet him first!
Douglas is very energetic and loves his toys. He will pick his favourite one and carry it over to his bed to chew on and play with. He would love a home that can meet his energy levels and take him on lots of fun new adventures.
Adopt Douglas and gain a new best friend today!
