There's nothing better than enjoying a sweet Butterbeer on a lovely spring evening, and this excitable young man is just as delightful!
Butterbeer is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and dogs. He's working hard on his manners, especially keeping all four paws on the floor during greetings. He's still in the early learning stages of life and will need ongoing training and guidance to become the best boy he can be.
Due to his high energy and excitable nature, Butterbeer is best suited to an adults only home, where he can be the centre of attention and receive the dedicated time and training he needs. His new family should be ready to help him settle into a consistent routine and teach him the ins and outs of polite doggy behavior.
Walks are a big adventure for Butterbeer and sometimes, a little too exciting! He's still learning how to keep his enthusiasm in check around other dogs, so ongoing training and positive reinforcement on leash will be essential. Butterbeer will need to be the only dog in the household.
Shelter life was stressful for Butterbeer, but he's made great progress in his foster home. He's learning to enjoy the calm comforts of pet life and has made big improvements with handling and greeting manners (though he's still working on not jumping into people's arms from pure joy!).
To keep him on track, Butterbeer needs plenty of enrichment, toys, and playtime to burn off that young pup energy in the right ways. In the right environment thats full of love, patience, and positive structure, this chunky sweetheart will absolutely thrive!
Butterbeer has so much love to give and just needs the right family to give him the chance to shine. Come meet Butterbeer and see all his wonderful quirks in person at our North Melbourne shelter today!
