A little bit about Bellatrix

Say hello to the lovely Bellatrix!

Bellatrix has come into our care after her owner passed away. With no one able to take care of her, she is ready and waiting at the shelter for a new adopter and a second chance at a forever home!

Bellatrix has found the shelter to be a very stressful environment and has been working hard with our behaviour team. She is learning how to be calm in new environments and to slowly meet new people. Her new adopters will need to take things at her own pace and make sure she has room to grow. Bellatrix's confidence has been growing slowing as she builds a routine here at the shelter, and we hope to find her an adopter who can continue to work on her skills and build her confidence.

Bellatrix's favourite past-time is to destroy soft toys. She loves rubber toys as well. Her ideal home will have lots of toys that she can play with and ultimately destroy!

Bellatrix will need to live in a home with adults only. She may be suitable to live in a home with a well-matched dog sibling, however, they will need to be a calm dog who brings out the best in Bellatrix. Please make sure all dogs and human family members come into the shelter for a meet and greet first.
