A little bit about Dexter

This here is the wonderful and whimsical Dexter.

Dexter came to us with a pre-existing condition to his eyes which left him with no vision. After providing him with some much needed veterinary treatment, he now rocks 2 fantastic battle scars.

Don't let his impairment fool you, Dex still loves walks, sniffing toys and getting up to malamute mischief. He's a fan of other like minded canines so if you have another chill doggo at home then we would love to arrange a date!

Due to his lack of vision, Dexter requires a very special home. Dex is looking for a quite and relaxed home that will accommodate his needs by removing obstacles that he may stumble into.

Walking can be tricky when you can't see where your going, so a committed guide human to show him the way is a must. He would also prefer it if his human was home most of the time.

Being handled can be overwhelming as he can't tell when hes getting a pat and by whom. It's important that his new home takes things slow and gentle until he becomes familiar with sounds and smells. He may be suitable for a home with dog smart kids who are secondary school aged or older.

Dexter has some tricks up his sleeves as his lack of sight doesn't stop him from finding an escape route within insecure fencing. Due to his history of escaping, an indoor lifestyle is best for Dex and all outdoor playtime must be supervised.

If you sound like a very special human who can provide a very special home, then please pop in an application below.

Weight: 35kgs.
