Yes. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. The Lost Dogs’ Home is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), so you’ll receive a receipt you can use when lodging your tax return.
If you make a one-off donation through our website, you’ll get your receipt straight to your inbox.
If you’re a monthly donor, you’ll receive a confirmation email when you set up your gift, and then a consolidated tax receipt at the end of each financial year, showing all the donations you’ve made.
It’s easy to become a monthly donor and make a lasting difference for lost and abandoned cats and dogs.
Simply select the monthly option in our donation form and choose the amount you’d like to give. You can set up your first donation using your credit or debit card, or via direct debit using your bank details. You’ll receive a confirmation email when you sign up, and we’ll debit your gift on or around the 15th of each month.
If you ever need to update, pause, or cancel your monthly donations, please contact our friendly Supporter Care team supporters@dogshome.com or (03) 8379 4453. We’ll take care of everything for you.

The Lost Dogs’ Home doesn’t receive any ongoing government funding. We rely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers like you to help care for thousands of lost and abandoned cats and dogs every year.
