The adoption process
Considering adopting an animal from the Home, but don’t know where to start? Check out our adoptions pages to view our beautiful animals available for adoption. We are no longer taking applications and work on a walk-in basis for animals.
Our adoptions team will work with you to help match you to your ideal pet. They’ll also explain the needs of your new companion and answer any questions you have about the adoptions process.
Be aware the adoption process can take some time, especially during busy periods such as weekends and holidays. Allow at least an hour for your visit.
How much does it cost?
The adoption fee helps to cover the cost for desexing, vaccinating, microchipping, flea treating and worming your new pet. All dogs and cats available for adoption undergo a thorough heath and temperament test from a qualified veterinarian and the Home’s behavioural department before adoption. Dogs are heartworm checked and cats are FIV tested. Our adoption fees vary from a suggested donation of $50 or more through to $1000+ depending on the animal you are looking to adopt.
