In a first for Australian animal shelters, The Lost Dogs’ Home Adoption Ambassador Program gives animals that don’t do well in a shelter environment, or have special needs, a better chance at finding a forever home by allowing people to adopt directly from our specially trained foster carers, negating the need for animals to return to the shelter environment.
The Adoption Ambassador Program also extends our shelter’s capacities while providing our animals the most appropriate care as they find their forever homes.
Animals listed on this page are all available for adoption through this program and are not onsite at our shelter locations. If you would like to adopt or enquire about any of these animals please email pathways.team@dogshome.com & include the animal Name/ID in the subject line. A team member will get back to you within 48hrs.
Check out all the dogs available for adoption online. Mark down the animal ID of the dogs you want to meet in the fur. All dogs are health-checked, behaviourally assessed, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Here an adoptions attendant will help you find the right pet for your household and lifestyle. The entire process can take up to an hour. If you already have a dog at home, bring them in also to meet your potential new dog.
It’s best to prepare your home for your new pet however you can find everything you need at our Adoptions Centre to set you up or get you throught the first few days together.
