Here is a snapshot of the week’s news at The Lost Dogs’ Home that is sure to get your tail wagging!
Warm weekend weather boosts adoptions
Last weekend marked a new beginning for many of our North Melbourne shelties with an outstanding 29 adoptions — all thanks to you!
Remember in addition to the many rewards of adopting, choosing a shelter animal is real value for money. Each adoption candidate is ready to take home having received well over $300 of health care including a full health check, desexing, microchipping, vaccinations and worming treatments.
Tune into Pets-A-Loud today from 12pm to find out why seniors make great companion animals.
In just one day, 150 cats and dogs now have a guaranteed return ticket home
A pet with no identification or worse still, identification with outdated contact details has virtually no way of being reunited with their owner.
Our ChipChecker service helps you find out:
• Your pet’s microchip number,
• Whether your current contact details are on the microchip,
• What database your pet’s microchip is registered to (in order to update their details if needed)
• And, whether the microchip has moved and in some cases, no longer works.
So far, ChipChecker has checked over 350 chips and we are delighted to report that on Sunday we checked a further 155 at National Pet Register ChipChecker events in Frankston and Williamstown!
Twelve dogs and three cats were also microchipped.
Stay on top of your pet’s identification and guarantee their return ticket home! Call 1300 734 738 or come along to a ChipChecker event.
With warm weather forecast to make a comeback this weekend, we want to see you and your pooch join us at the Spring Fling Street Festival on Errol Street, North Melbourne.

‘Tis to time to start thinking!
Buying a present for an animal lover is tricky work. Most already have everything they need for their pets and they probably won’t find that ‘Crazy Cat Lady’ t-shirt as amusing as you do.
So why not give them a gift that actually means something and will help thousands of lost and unwanted cats and does each year.
