Barry arrived at our Shelter last month with an injury to his hind leg. The one-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback was assessed and looked after by our veterinary team at The Lost Dogs’ Home, who sadly had to amputate his leg through surgery.
Resilient Barry has now bounced back. Staff at The Lost Dogs’ Home have fallen in love with the friendly fella, who is now on the lookout for his forever home!
“My friend Barry is such an amazing, resilient young boy. I’m so proud of his progress,” says kennel attendant, Emily.
“He has a big heart ready to give cuddles and lots of love to give to a new family.”
Barry needs a home where everyone is at least secondary-school aged. He needs to be able to stay inside the house, even when nobody is home.
Barry may also be able to live alongside another canine buddy, so if you have a dog in your family, please bring them down with you to meet him.
Barry’s condition will require his new family to be extra attentive to his health and development. He needs low-impact exercise, a healthy diet and needs to avoid stairs due to strain on his remaining leg.
In return, lovable Barry is sure to bring his new family many years of love and companionship. Come visit Barry today at The Lost Dogs’ Home in North Melbourne!
