THANK YOU: Donations of Christmas cheer

February 4, 2016

From blankets and towels through to your valuable time, we continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity and support we receive from you.

At The Lost Dogs’ Home we are grateful for each and every donation made to the Home. Thanks to your ongoing support and generosity we are able to give animals in need a second chance of finding their forever home.

D74W0003Christmas cheer is delivered to animals in need

No animal deserves to face Christmas alone. However, each year thousands of animals are brought into the Home during the festive season with nowhere else to go.

In December we launched our 2015 Christmas appeal and called out to you to help us care for animals in need. Thanks to your generosity we have raised more than $350,000!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the appeal. Your generous donations help us deliver vital services including our shelter medicine, behaviour, foster care and volunteer programs.

Food, glorious food!

For nearly 30 years Woolworths customers have included shelter animals on their Christmas lists through the Woolworths Christmas Pet Food Appeal.

This appeal is the Home’s biggest annual food drive and last year more than 60 Woolworths stores throughout Victoria participated in the campaign.

Thanks to your generous support we received 152 bins each filled with 240 litres of pet food. That’s 36,480 litres of food!

These generous food donations help us direct vital resources to the running of key services including our adoption and foster programs.

Thank you to everyone who thought and gave to help feed the cats and dogs in our care.

Gifts of love

D74W7312Mother Teresa once said “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” We believe for of our long term donors, Sue, it’s not just her donations, but the love and care she puts into each one that makes them special.

Each December, Sue brings bags of brightly wrapped parcels of love for dogs and cats spending the festive season at the Home. Each carefully wrapped parcel contains a gift of food or a toy which provides much needed nourishment and enrichment to those animals spending the festive season at the Home.

From all of us here at the Home we’d like to thank Sue for continuing to open your heart to animals in need each and every year.
