Sensational News For 100 Lost Dogs at Gracie Street.

September 25, 2019

A hundred big doggies have now found loving homes, thanks to you – our extended “family” of supporters at The Lost Dogs’ Home.

On 4th September, The Lost Dogs’ Home created a Swipe Right for Paw-Fection campaign, focussing on finding loving homes for the many, many dogs at the shelter over 20 kilos.

Little doggies are cute and we’re pleased they are rehomed quickly. Our big dogs are just as cuddly though, and the success of this campaign certainly proved that.

Despite rain and hail, our North Melbourne shelter experienced high visitor numbers during the campaign, as people travelled great distances to meet their ‘forever loves.”

Our staff and volunteers shed more than a few tears when dogs who had called the shelter home for many months, were finally adopted into the new families they so deserved.

And it’s true, on many occasions the dogs chose their owners! Farewell Bentley, Olive, Parsnip and Carrot; Mocha, Kitty, Boris, Lolly and Panda.

Unfortunately, abandoned and surrendered dogs, and cats, of all shapes and sizes are continually arriving at our two shelters. We give them a much needed bath, nutritious food, warm shelter, medical care, behaviour training, regular walkies with our volunteers, and most importantly, connect them to you – a forever friend.
