An open letter to friends and supporters of The Lost Dogs’ Home.
As we approach Christmas – traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for our team here at The Lost Dogs’ Home – we wanted to take this opportunity to thank our friends, family and supporters for your ongoing support of our organisation and the important work we do.
As you know, our mission is to improve animal welfare outcomes for the many lost, abandoned and stray dogs and cats who arrive at our North Melbourne and Cranbourne centres every day. Without your contributions, we simply could not provide the vital animal welfare services that have distinguished The Lost Dogs’ Home since our establishment in 1910.
Mr. Keith Drew, an international expert in change management and the development of significant not for profit organisations has recently been appointed CEO.
All Directors are experienced and credible professionals fully aware of their fiduciary obligations and united in their support of our CEO and the Executive team. Their collective wisdom and experience are being applied to a range of initiatives made possible by our strong financial position. This includes major facility upgrades and services improvements, the launch of the Lost Dogs’ Home Foundation and a comprehensive operational review.
We deeply regret the recent personal attacks focused on our Chair.
We also wanted to publicly re-affirm our ongoing and enduring commitment to realising our vision to be Australia’s pre-eminent organisation caring for lost and unwanted dogs and cats and to promoting the responsible ownership of these animals in our community.
Your wonderful passion and support coupled with our ongoing dedication to the cause, will help us continue to safeguard the welfare of vulnerable animals into the future.
The Board of Directors
