Held at PETstock’s Echuca store, staff and foster representatives from the Home and Echuca Animal Rescue Service will be there to provide information on how foster carers can provide invaluable support and a safe, nurturing environment for dogs and cats in need.
Campaspe Shelter Manger Kate believes that foster carers play a vital role in the lives of those lost and abandoned cats and dogs needing a little extra love, time and care before they are ready to be adopted by their new family.
“Every day we see animals come into the Home in a variety of conditions with unknown histories. The animals needing time in foster care tend to need ongoing support and treatment, and a loving home environment is the best place for them to receive this.
“By providing a temporary home, our foster carers give these animals the love and support they need before they can go on to find their forever families.
“On Pet Foster Day we will be providing information on how people can register to become a foster carer with the Home and interested members of the public will also be able to sign up on the day,” said Kate.
If you aren’t in the position to become a foster carer, don’t worry, there are many other things to see on the day for every animal lover.
“We will be bringing along some of our adoption candidates to show how shelter animals make great pets; there will also be opportunities for people to find out more information on how they can volunteer at our Campaspe shelter.
“No matter your interest, there will be something for everyone during the day; so celebrate the beginning of spring and come on down to PETstock Echuca to find out more about pet fostering,” said Kate.
