Media Alert – Kittens found in industrial dumpster ready to go home

February 26, 2020

Kittens found in industrial dumpster ready to go home .

One-week-old kittens found in an industrial dumpster have beaten the odds and are now ready to find new home.

Staff at The Lost Dogs’ Home have been fostering the two brothers who have spent 70 days at the North Melbourne shelter helping them get strong and recover from surgery.

Liam and Tom weighed just 150 grams (the size of a small banana) when they were rescued but now are a healthy 800 grams.

The Lost Dog’s Home spokesperson Suzana Talevski said people often had to give up their pets for a range of reasons including relationship breakdown, moving overseas and rental arrangements.

“We urge members of the public to please not dump animals,” Ms Talevski said.

“If you find a stray animal have a heart and, please take it to your local council, vet or animal welfare organisation.

“There’s never an excuse to dump animals in such a cruel manner.”
