MADI turns three!

May 8, 2019
After three years on the road and more than 3,400 cats desexed, MADI isn’t slowing down.

Celebrating three years on the road in April, our mobile cat desexing van which we call “MADI” (short for Microchipping, Adoption, Desexing, Information) has now desexed more than 3,400 cats and kittens.

With more than sixty events staged in partnership with 13 councils and two rescue groups over this time, the van has been everywhere from the Bass Coast to Ballarat.

The service is extremely popular as it offers very affordable, low-cost desexing, microchipping and registration, which is subsidised by the relevant council for their residents.

“Our council and rescue partners have been very supportive of the initiative,” says Community Outreach Coordinator, Sarah Symons. “The majority of councils are re-booking multiple events on our schedule. We’re now looking into holding more events each year and getting to more locations.”

With your help, MADI will still be on the road for many more years to come.
