Help us knit some winter woollies

July 21, 2016

Calling all knitters! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, your skills and passion can help keep shelter dogs warm this winter.

We’re appealing for knitted jackets for our bigger shelter dogs. We’ve got plenty of jackets for small dogs, but desperately need more medium and large size jackets. Can you help?

For the knitters

By knitting a dog jacket, you can spend time doing what you love and help animals at the same time. Your knitted creations will give extra warmth and comfort to our bigger shelter dogs this winter.

Choose a knitting pattern below and start clacking those needles!

For the non-knitters

If you don’t have time to knit or if knitting just isn’t your thing, you can still help by donating some wool. We’ll pass it on to our dedicated knitters so they can get started on some warm, comfy jackets. With your donation of wool and their donation of time, it’ll be a team effort!

Donations of wool or knitted dog jackets can be posted or dropped off at our North Melbourne shelter, located at 2 Gracie Street, North Melbourne VIC 3051. Click here for a map.

If you have a donation but aren’t able to post or drop it off, give us a call on (03) 9329 2755. Depending on resources, we might be able to come and collect it.
