Kitten saved from dumpster drain

June 30, 2019

When Sasha came into our care a fortnight ago, she was shivering, scared and in need of lots of love.

The 2-month-old kitten was found in a dumpster drain in Derrimut. Her rescuers managed to use a lubricant to help her out and bring her to safety.

Sasha was then assessed and looked after by our caring veterinary team at The Lost Dogs’ Home.

“I was there the day she came in. She very cold, very scared and covered in oil,” says vet nurse Megan Skarajew.

“We monitored her temperature because she was only about 32 degrees. We made sure she was eating and drinking. We’re giving her baths to get the oil out of her coat. She’s now getting brighter every day.”

Back on her paws after lots of love, Sasha is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and looking for a loving forever home.

“Sasha has now come around and seems quite friendly and is getting a lot braver each day,” says Megan.

“She needs someone who will give her the right amount of attention and love. Someone who is willing to build on her confidence.

“We’ve helped Sasha get back on track and we can’t do that without donations.”
