‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the Home

Dogs and cats wait patiently for a place of their own;

With their wagging tails and coats brushed with care

In hopes a new family would soon visit there;

For many it would be such a happy sight

To have a new family on a warm Christmas night.

We have a number of cats and dogs looking for their forever families this Christmas. Could you give them the new home they are searching for?

These are just some of the lovely cats and dogs are looking for a home this Christmas. You can view all the cats and dogs currently up for adoption at

With some research and planning, Christmas can be a great time of year to adopt a new pet into the family. Adopting  during the holidays gives everyone in your family an opportunity to spend quality time with their new pet – and it helps them adjust into their new home!

It is also a great time for parents to teach children about the work involved in caring for a new animal and to introduce a pet care routine.

Cats and kittens are half price until January 3. You can read more about our Cool Cats promotion here.

You can meet all of these animals in the fur this weekend at our North Melbourne shelter at 2 Gracie Street, North Melbourne. For more information visit
