In December 2015, adopter Alana made the decision to introduce a new member into her family, six month-old kitten Vader, formally known as Vandross.
“My partner and I were moving into a new place of our own and we wanted a pet to come and be part of our family.
“We saw Vader in the kitten area at The Lost Dogs’ Home and went over to have a look at him.
“Vader came over to me and let me pick him up straight away. When nuzzled into my neck and fell asleep I knew he had chosen us and was going to be a big part of our family,” said Alana.
“He likes to meet all of our friends whenever they come over to our house. Vader is a very affectionate and friendly cat who loves to be the centre of attention.
“I love coming home from a hard day, or on the weekend when I am tired, and sitting with him on the couch or on our bed – when he cuddles into me I instantly feel better.”
It seems like Vader likes getting into mischief, with Alana and her partner often finding him in some pretty funny places.
“I open the dishwasher to put a mug in and he’s right in there. Open the linen cupboard and his is hiding in the towels. He also likes getting into the pantry and hiding amongst the containers – his inquisitive nature certainly takes him places!
“It is just so lovely to see his little face when we get home and his hilarious antics keep us smiling. It is nice to have a big pet with a big personality – who loves a cuddle after they have had their fun.”
During April, The Lost Dogs’ Home is aiming to find homes for 250 cats and kittens during our 2016 Adopt-A-Thon.
