A PAWfect Partnership – behind the scenes with Kip&Co

June 17, 2019

Hayley, Kate and Alex, who started Kip&Co back in 2012, are as passionate about their dogs as they are about interiors.  This extremely successful Melbourne-based homewares company has a cult following, sells internationally and features frequently in the best interior design publications and blogs.

Recently the girls came to The Lost Dogs’ Home to tell us about the new range of dog products they were going to launch and to generously offer to support us with 50% of the profits they made from this range online.

Their first-ever pet collection puts a Kip&Co twist on products for your precious pooch! With four fun prints, there’s a perfect match for every dog. The cotton canvas pet beds are durable, washable and come in two sizes to cover all creatures great and small. Leads and collars are beautifully made with Kip&Co prints, quality brass-coloured hardware and a signature Kip&Co name tag on every collar.

Kip&Co is also planning to help us promote dogs that need adopting and have even offered to volunteer time to assist us around the Home.

Everything connected with animals is very important to us, so we asked the girls these serious questions:

Do you all have dogs and what are their names?

Kate has Snoop, Hayley is the proud owner of Jaffa and Cookie, and Alex’s soul mate Freddy headed off to doggy heaven last year, so she’s currently dreaming of her next fur baby.

Would you agree that your dogs match your personalities?

Ha! Probably true. Snoop is a loveable mischief-maker, always going off wandering on adventures which is quite true of Kate too. Jaffa is fiercely loyal and protective of his family, while Cookie is a total softie so again, very similar to Hayley! This is fun. And Fred – he was so laid back, never that into exercise, and a lover of his tucker so yes, I’d say that pretty well describes Alex too!

What made you want to support The Lost Dogs’ Home?

We’ve all had pets through various rescue homes and it was important that the pet collection recognise this awesome service.  The Lost Dogs’ Home has such a great reputation, we knew that this would be the perfect partnership.
What was important when you were deciding on your range of dog products?

We wanted to offer pet products with a Kip&Co twist – that meant they had to be bright, bold, fun patterns that put a smile on your dial. Because we have all had very different breeds of dogs over the years, we were conscious of catering to the different size fur babies out there, and we also know that any pet product needs to be able to put up with a fair bit of wear and tear, so getting our dogs to test out the range was essential!

Out of the three of you, who’s got the best “my dog ate my homework story?”

Well he didn’t eat the homework, but one time after a work trip to the USA Alex came home and battling jet lag, just hit the hay straight from the airport. She woke up to find Freddy had been munching his way through her remaining US dollars (luckily they still use paper money over there!). I think it was his way of telling me Alex that she wasn’t allowed to do any more travelling for a while!
