Today the Herald Sun featured our ’12 Strays of Christmas’, just some of the dogs and cats that will need new and loving homes this festive season.
It’s hard to believe that these 12 beautiful and friendly dogs have been abandoned by their owners, however unfortunately it is the situation for so many animals that we see here at the Home, especially at this time of year.
But these 12 lucky dogs will be in their new homes for Christmas, enjoying the attention and love they deserve and I suspect a special Christmas day lunch too! Within just an hour, our phone ringing almost off the hook, 10 of these 12 Christmas Strays had new homes.
Only two are left, Lulu and Wilbur and there will be many more over the coming weeks. If you can give an unwanted dog or cat a home then please visit our adoption page for a list of the dogs and cats needing caring new owners or come in and visit the Home. Our adoption hours are 10am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12.45pm Saturday and Sunday.
You can also help us care for the annual influx of abandoned dogs and cats this Christmas by making a donation to our Christmas Appeal. Your donation will help us to provide such services as veterinary care, help run our animal ambulances and our adoption program so that more animals like the ’12 Strays of Christmas’ will have the chance to find new, loving homes.
