Thanks to a large bequest from Mrs Thelma Hoult, a former teacher, the Home has been able to plan for a Training and Education Centre to be built opposite its main site in Gracie Street.
Comprising a 50 seat auditorium, meeting room and office space, the Thelma Hoult Training and Education Centre will allow the Home to host school and community groups to present information on responsible pet ownership, as well as providing much-needed space for training sessions to benefit both Lost Dogs’ Home staff and other animal welfare industry groups.
Photos taken today, 23 April, show the foundation being laid for this long-awaited and vital building.
The Thelma Hoult Training and Education Centre will be completed in September 2010.
We will continue to provide building updates on our website www.dogshome.com.
