To you, that old blanket that has been tucked away in the laundry cupboard for the past few years — bearing a few small wear holes or stained slightly from a spilt hot chocolate — is nothing more than a rag.

To the residents of The Lost Dogs’ Home, however, that same blanket is a haven, a snug fort of security and warmth, where they can pass the time until they find their ultimate fort — a new home.

As you begin to brush the dust off your coats and scarves, and the winter chill begins to creep up, it’s important to remember that your beloved pets will also need some comfort to chase away the winter blues. Despite having an in-built fur coat, dogs and cats definitely feel the effects of the drop in temperature — especially the elderly or the very young.
