Christmas has come early for our 12 strays of Christmas.
Eight of the loveable pooches featured in Saturday’s Herald Sun have been given a second chance and The Lost Dogs’ Home in North Melbourne is confident the remaining four will soon have a new home.
Calvin the gordon setter mix was adopted by Ringwood North couple Stephanie and Richard Weisinger and their family.
“We don’t understand how anyone could abandon a dog like Calvin,” Ms Weisinger said. “He is just unbelievable. He has the most gentle nature. He is a jewel. So wonderful.”
Calvin hit it off immediately with the couple’s dog Jake, who was also a stray.
Sue Conroy, the shelter’s general manager, was delighted with the response to the 12 strays of Christmas.
