When Skip’s owners surrendered him to the Home, we knew that this affectionate cat would find a fantastic new home. We didn’t think it would take as long as it did though. When Amy contacted us enquiring after an adult cat, we suggested she meet Skip. The rest, as they say, is history. Skip was adopted on Saturday and Amy kindly emailed us an update on how her newest family member is doing.
I just wanted to let all the wonderful staff at The Lost Dogs’ Home know that Skip is settling into his new home really well.
In fact, we’re amazed at how quickly he’s adjusted and is already behaving like he owns the place and has lived with us forever!
His little pink blanket from the shelter has come home with him and takes pride of place in his lovely soft new cat bed, for him to cuddle up with and do Happy Paws on, which he’s been doing often and quite vigorously actually - on me and my partner Jason too!
I’m also delighted to report that he’s been using his litter-box and new scratching block dutifully, has a very healthy appetite and is happy to let me brush him on a daily basis.
Now we just need to train him to be more active during the day and less active at night (!), but otherwise he really is just as you described… the most adorable boy with such a wonderful nature….a real character and very clever too.
Skip’s been quite frisky these past couple of days, galloping around the house and playing with whatever he can get his paws on (shoelaces, his ping pong ball, magazines, you name it!), and just loves having pats and scratches.
A huge thanks once again to the dedicated team at The Lost Dogs’ Home for taking such good care of Skip while he was between permanent homes.
Best wishes,
Amy, Jason and Skip
