Secondary students - Year 10

The Lost Dogs’ Home offer a work experience program to allow Year 10 students (aged 15 years and over) the opportunity to learn about animal care and responsible pet ownership while working in a shelter environment. Students must book a full work experience week, from Monday 8:30am - 4pm and Tuesday - Friday 8am – 4pm. Please read our Work Experience Fact Sheet for more information on the program.

It’s December 23 and while dogs and cats around the world are cocking their heads in confusion as their owners don fluffy red hats and drink that bubbly stuff that always makes them silly, The Lost Dogs’ Home would also like to offer pet owners a few quick tips for keeping their beloved pets happy and safe this season:

To the canine residents of The Lost Dogs’ Home, going for a walk is the absolute highlight of the day. While they wait for their future families to swoop in and provide them with unconditional love and a safe home, our shelter staff do their best to make their stay as enjoyable as possible – which, in dog terms, means lots and lots of walks!

12/12 – Pet ID Day is a national day of awareness initiated by National Pet Register to remind pet owners to identify their pets with a microchip and collar tag, and to keep contact details up-to-date so all lost pets
