Through the significant efforts of the team at The Lost Dogs’ Home, there has been a 28% increase in the re-homing rates of dogs, which has had a corresponding impact to reduce euthanasia rates.
When compared on previous years, this represents a 55% improvement on 2007 figures.
From November 2009 until August 2010, we have also averaged nearly $20,000 per month in surgical procedures to help dogs be re-homed.
In addition to the various medical procedures (including amputations, joints work, tumour removals), we have also opened our fostering program to the public and working with some trusted rescue providers.
Dr Smith, Managing Director said “Every year, we aim to do better than the year before. This requires excellent clinical and animal behaviour experts, and facilities that can cope with the influx of abandoned and stray animals that we get each year”.
“I congratulate the team in working as one and look forward to producing even better outcomes in the coming year”, said Doctor Smith.
