Found in the western suburbs of Melbourne, this gorgeous 18-month-old black standard Poodle was in an extreme state of neglect when brought to The Lost Dogs’ Home in North Melbourne.
Looking at Bess now, it is difficult to imagine that this joyous canine was hiding under dirty, matted and flee ridden coat that was not only causing her discomfort and pain, but also restricted her ability to move comfortably.
It is safe to say that that in her short life, Bess has never had her coat cared for in the appropriate way. Poodles need lifelong and very regular grooming and professional clipping every 6-8 weeks. If this responsibility is neglected it takes no time at all for these beautiful dogs to experience the uncomfortable burden of a matted coat.
While in our care Bess has received a full body clip, a full health check, was desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and wormed. This wonderfully clever girl has been a delight to work with and it seems she knows her future is bright.
Now completely freed of her past life we are determined to find her a new home with an owner who will give her a high level of care and adore her for the rest of her life.
