Loving new homes found for Bruce, Wilma and Betty

The three dogs featured recently on our website have all found loving, new homes this weekend.

Firstly, staff were happy to see neglected pair, Wilma and Betty, go home together on Saturday. They were adopted by Janine who having owned and loved a West Highland terrier in the past was looking for another.

Janine fell in love with Wilma and Betty but had not considered taking on two new dogs at once. She did the right thing and slept on it overnight and really thought about the impact of adopting two new dogs.

But the next day Janine was sure and was back to adopt Wilma and Betty. In the meantime Janine had also done her Pet Licence test and brought with her the certificate to obtain her discount of $30 off the cost of each dog.

Everyone at The Lost Dogs’ Home is so pleased to see Wilma and Betty, who having suffered years of neglect with their heavily matted coats, go home to a family who will love and care for them as they deserve.

Receptionist Helen reports that Janine has since called to let everyone know how well Wilma and Betty are doing. “They have fitted in very well and it is if they have always belonged!”

Older, Staffy gentleman Bruce took a little longer to find his new owner. However on Sunday 21st Melvyn came in and was taken with Bruce’s friendly personality.

It was a rewarding for staff to see this lovely dog go to a home where he will receive the attention and time he deserves. We know that Bruce will make a loyal and devoted companion.

There are many other dogs like Bruce, Wilma and Betty that are available for adoption at The Lost Dogs’ Home. You can view dog and cats available for adoption on our website.

All dog and cats at the Home have been temperament and health tested, are desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. Dogs also come with one free obedience lesson with Planet K9.

Don’t forget to do your Pet Licence first before you come into The Lost Dogs’ Home to make sure you will be a responsible pet owner and to receive a discount off the adoption cost (available at North Melbourne only).
