iDog is looking for a new home
The force when the car hit iDog caused his left eyeball to pop out from the socket, where it was left hanging.
Ariana, who saw the crash, came to iDog’s rescue and drove him to a nearby animal emergency centre.
When collected the next day by The Lost Dogs' Home, iDog had been given pain relief and although still in shock after such a close call, was in general good health. Upon reaching the Home, he was immediately transferred to the hospital where he was sedated so the prolapsed eyeball could be surgically removed.
“The wound is healing well but he’s still getting used to only having one eye. iDog’s a sweet boy, but he’s timid. For that reason, a home without small children is required. His new owner will need to spend time with him helping him gain confidence. He hasn’t been socialised with dogs or many people by his previous owner” said General Manager Sue Conroy.
iDog is available to adopt from our North Melbourne shelter, and is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and health checked. Please call (03) 9329 2755 and quote tag number 855611 if you would like to adopt him.
