Help Us Rebuild The Lives of Deserving dogs like Buffy

The Lost Dogs’ Home needs the help of more people to care for neglected and unwanted cats and dogs just like Buffy.

Rising demand along with the effects of the current global financial crisis have meant our veterinary clinic, shelter and adoption program are under constant strain to care for the 20,000 cats and dogs arriving each year.  Many in a shocking state of neglect.

Our current Winter Appeal is helping to raise funds to see us through the busy winter period when we see an increase in the number of abandoned adolescent dogs, given as Christmas present 6 months earlier.

But one of the best ways you can help dogs and cats in need, all year round, is by becoming one of our special ‘Friend of PAWs’ supporters, giving an automated regular gift each month.

Providing the care needed to treat and find new homes for abandoned and neglected cats and dogs like Buffy takes patience, a lot of skill and a lot of love.  Fortunately, these are qualities our team have in abundance, but what we don’t always have is the security of enough reliable funds – and without reliable funds, there is very little we can do to help animals like Buffy.

Buffy is a little Pomeranian cross pup who was found dumped at a shopping centre with an elastic band cutting deep into the flesh of her tail.

Unfortunately, Buffy’s tail had begun to die off and it was clear to our Veterinary Clinic Manager Larry Colson that it was beyond saving.  But even with her damaged tail removed Buffy’s problems were far from over.  Larry’s check-up also revealed that she was suffering from a hernia, possibly caused by trauma such as being kicked.

Fortunately Buffy came through ordeal with lots of TLC from our Veterinary staff and the best news is that we found her a loving new home.

Buffy’s story is not unique and that’s why I am desperately hoping that you will step forward today and become one of our newest ‘Friend of PAWs’ supporters.

By doing so you will help us bring relief, provide care and give second chances to thousands of abandoned and neglect cats and dogs 365 days of year.

A regular monthly gift will help fund our veterinary clinic where Buffy was treated, contribute towards our adoption program and support our work teaching school children about responsible pet ownership.
