Buckley prepares for adoption

This weekend Buckley will begin the next phase of his life as he goes home with his new owner.

Since having his ears and tail cruelly cut off in a horrific attack on July 11, Buckley has been in foster care at the Home.

Now, at almost five months old, Buckley is well enough to be adopted. The wary, fearful pup with the ragged ears and tail is no more. His ears and tail have healed brilliantly, his coat shines with health and he greets everyone with gusto.

This morning Buckley was back at the Home for a bath and vet check up before his adoption.

“My life won’t be the same without him! For the past two months he has been my constant companion and although it will be hard to say goodbye, he is going to a great home and we will be keeping in contact with him,” said his carer Jodie.

His new owner was carefully chosen from more than 350 applicants. Buckley and his owner will be regular visitors to the Home to attend ongoing training with Planet K9 and receive vet care at the Clinic.

We wish Buckley and his new owner all the very best for the future.

Thank you to all who supported Buckley and so generously gave towards his treatment and rehabilitation.

We will continue to publish updates on www.dogshome.com as Buckley settles into his new home.
