Kenny has been adopted!

UPDATE: 29 August - Kenny was rehomed this morning.  

It was anyone’s guess as to what breed of dog lay underneath the horribly matted and overgrown coat.

After being bathed and clipped, Kenny emerged as a much happier and sweeter smelling maltese mix. His mild skin irritation has been treated and should not present any ongoing problems.

Buckley's Friends in Need Fund

Buckley was only eight weeks old when his owner cut off his ears and tail with a pair of scissors or shears in what was a callous and deliberate attack.

It is beyond comprehension how anyone could be so cruel to an innocent animal, but The Lost Dogs’ Home is often called upon to care for severely neglected and cruelly treated cats and dogs like Buckley.

Dolly's been adopted!

Update: Dolly has now been adopted! 

Lost and wandering the streets, gentle Shih Tzu mix Dolly was hit by a car and sustained some serious injuries. Rushed to the Home in need of intensive care and veterinary attention, Dolly has now recovered and is ready for a new home.

Crazy John’s crazy about helping animals in need

The Lost Dogs' Home recently received a call from Crazy John’s National Customer Service Manager, Andrew Strachan, asking how he could help the Home. He was responding to a letter we sent asking for assistance towards our dogs and cats in need. Not only is he now making a monthly personal donation to the Home, but he is rallying Crazy John’s staff across Melbourne to support the Home’s work.

Buckley meets Buckley!

13 week old Buckley the puppy had a visit from his namesake, former Collingwood star Nathan Buckley on Wednesday.

Nathan took pleasure in meeting little Buckley as he enjoyed more quality time socialising and playing with his canine friends Bonnie and Ruby at the Home.

Reunited after missing for one year

Bert was chosen by Genevieve’s three children out of litter when he was just four-weeks-old. He was the biggest and busiest Schnauzer and looked like he’d be a loyal addition to the family.
