Barbara Datson has been generously donating to The Lost Dogs’ Home for over three years. She is part of a group of regular donors who give a donation every month. She is also the President of ‘The Angels’ – a fundraising group connected to the St Kilda Football Club that primarily raises money to purchase memberships for disabled people. But that’s not all they do! Where there is a community need, The Angels are there to help. They recently answered our call for blanket and coat donations to help us keep our dogs and cats warm throughout winter.
The Angels spent several months knitting beautiful dog jackets and blankets for The Lost Dogs’ Home. Barbara presented the Home with a bundle of brightly coloured jackets and thick, warm blankets. We’ve put them to use straight away, and know how comforting they will be for the animals in our care as the weather gets colder.
As well as The Angels spreading their warmth at the Home, Rosemary and Michelle Butterworth of Burwood, Victoria , recently donated a big box of knitted doggie delights. Also generous supporters of the Home, their jackets and blankets have been knitted with the precision and care of true animal lovers. Our staff are overwhelmed with this kind of generosity and it is very heartwarming to know that there are people like Michelle and Rosemary and the Angels to help keep our animals warm through the cold winter nights.
If you would like to assist the Home during the difficult winter months, you can help by donating towels, dog jackets and blankets. Or, you can make a cash donation to ensure we can continue to rescue and care for Australia’s lost and abandoned dogs and cats.
