Adoption Procedure
Visit our adoptions page to browse pets for adoption from our shelters. The site is updated daily and allows you to search by location and pet type and even save your searches!
As well as photos, many of the online pet portfolios give you insight into the animal’s personality and their needs. You are also welcome to visit the shelters in person to see the cats and dogs for adoption.
Adoption staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have, as well as allow you to be introduced and spend some time with your potential pet.
Our adoption procedure involves completion of some paperwork, the adoption process may take up to one hour particularly during busy times, (generally Thursday to Saturday).
After deciding on your new pet, one of our adoption team will be able to explain the needs of your cat or dog as well as discuss any concerns you may have.
How much does it cost?
All animals adopted from The Lost Dogs’ Home are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and vet checked. Dogs are also heartworm checked, and cats FIV tested.

Dogs: adults and pups $300
Cats: adults $95, kittens $170
Campaspe Animal Shelter, VIC
Dogs: adults and pups $300
Cats: adults $95, kittens $130
In Victoria a kitten is considered a feline under the age of six months.
Wingecarribee Animal Shelter, NSW
Dogs: adults and pups - Female $295, Male $274
Cats: adults $72, kittens $93
In New South Wales a kitten is considered a feline under the age of six months.
Warra Animal Shelter, QLD
Dogs: adults and pups $304
